Packaging Day... Part 1

I dedicated today towards print outs, stock tests and general packaging progress. I hoped this would direct me some more in the design of the project as a whole, as so far I have only been working on the periodic table. The initial net stemmed from sketches and measurements of the Petri dishes to see how they could interact with some outside packaging. I wanted to exploit the shape of the net as much as possible before starting with the design, making the design interact with the packaging rather than shape it.

Ideas Include
-
Measuring tool inside the label to show people how much to use of each spice, measured in tsp?
Have the code for each spice e.g. Cu - Cumin on the inside of the label so its distorted through the glass.

Problems Solved
-
The packaging doesn't fit neatly around the dish so the holes exposing the side make the design fit snugly onto it.
When the holes are put into the side of the label the label needs to be thinner so that it stays on properly (and for ornamental value)
The test tubes roll off the side, but with the folded packaging they sit without the glass touching the worktop.
