Rework

Here I was trying to use one of the ideas from the finished typeface, for example just the jack cables on the top, as well as exploring a different typeface to work with - Rockwell. I was also trying to refine the type, again seeing how much I could take away without loosing legibility. The final consideration for the redesign of my typeface was based on creating vector style ideas instead of heavily illustrated designs to allow the typeface to conform to the rules and have more typographic qualities.

The first idea of the aux cable is very simple and would be easy to carry out over a whole typeface,  replacing the blocky serifs from rockwell with the aux design. This however is a bit to simple and it could be far more interesting to explore integrating a mixture of curves and shapes with the letter forms.

The in ear headphone design works to an point and would be hard to integrate with quite a few letters from the alphabet, however if I use a few more in ear headphones to create my vector style images it would be far easier to carry the design over a whole typeface.

The last design, again using the aux cable but having reworked it to make a more clear and blocky symmetrical design. It would be simple to use for most of the alphabet and with glyphs however using it with letters that have no stem, or straight forms would be challenging and take away the simplicity of the idea which is its main strength.
