Using final cut to produce a stop motion image, allows the introduction of editing and adding sound or audio.
Final Cut Express >Easy Set up (comes up its self when you first open final cut)
File >Import >Select folder. Once the images are imported into the Final Cut browser drag one file onto the timeline, if you drag others they snap onto the design meaning timing is perfect. Also get the option for space between the stills.
Now the images are onto the time line you can shorten or lengthen the amount of time they are on the screen.
File >System Settings >on the menu below set each onto the folder with the images in it.
Then import the folder rather than individual files, and using >Command - & + zoom in and out on the timeline. Command 'a' on the timeline selects all the stills. Shift 'z' fits the video onto the timeline.
After selecting all the files you can change the duration >right click >Duration (00.00.10.00)
Once it is set up, using the exact same saving methods as using on quick time last week.
To simplify the sequence to avoid changing where each individual image is, >File >New >Sequence, If you drag the sequence onto the new one it gives you the file as a video rather than individual images (allows you to work with the sequence as one click) when you update the duration of the first sequence it will automatically update the video file. (Doing this automatically adds audio)
Adding Text
Select the A in view window >Text >Text then drag onto timeline. Then double click on text on timeline to see it in the viewer window.
Select >Controls in the view window, you can put the text over the video rather than separate.
To add audio use import and make sure its in the same folder as the stills. Also to get rid of the red line use >Command 'r' to render the audio.
Again to export the video same settings as quick time but make sure the sound settings are selected.
Im not going to put the video up because its horrible and the text needs much more work, but hopefully going to make a better one using my trainer illustrations.
